QA Engineer

About VU Custom

We enable leading consumer brands to deliver personalized and custom products through a modern SaaS platform that connects eCommerce, manufacturing, fulfillment, and order management. VU OS supports more than 70 brands across 260 sites and delivers order information to more than 175 factories globally. YR, part of the VU Custom family, powers high-fidelity 2D/3D product configurators for eCommerce, in-store kiosks, and live brand activations, with support hubs in the US, UK, and APAC. Our clients include Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Luxottica, Vera Bradley, Bauer Hockey, and more. Learn more about VU Custom’s two platforms at vucustom.com and thisisyr.com.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Lead, the QA Engineer will own manual and automated testing for our web applications, including eCommerce storefronts, retail software, and our order management system. This is a hands-on role: you’ll design test cases, write and maintain automated test suites, and sign off on releases. Success comes from catching issues before they reach clients and building repeatable quality practices that speed up every release.

You’ll work closely with developers, programmer analysts, and project managers, on a schedule that overlaps with our US team’s business hours. You won’t just run tests someone else wrote: you’ll analyze what needs testing and decide how to test it.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Coverage

  • Define test cases and acceptance criteria for new features and bug fixes, working with developers and project managers from the start of each sprint.
  • Document complete, detailed test cases, test plans, and acceptance criteria so coverage is visible to the whole team.
  • Partner with Engineering and Project Management during sprint planning and release cycles to define what “ready to release” means for each deliverable.

Manual & Automated Testing

  • Perform thorough manual testing across web applications, front-end interfaces, and backend services to validate end-to-end user journeys, including cross-browser and mobile web checks.
  • Write and maintain automated end-to-end UI tests and integrate them into our continuous integration (CI) pipeline.
  • Perform thorough regression testing before major software releases and client deployments to minimize production issues.

Defect Tracking & Resolution

  • Identify, document, reproduce, and track bugs to resolution in JIRA.
  • Work directly with developers to prioritize and accelerate bug fixes, and verify each fix before closing the ticket.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance engineering, covering both manual testing and test automation.
  • Hands-on experience testing web applications, REST APIs, and backend integrations.
  • Direct experience writing and maintaining automated UI tests with Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
  • Experience testing APIs with Postman or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, test management tools, and Git.
  • Professional English (B2 level required, C1 preferred), written and spoken, for daily stand-ups, technical documentation, and ticket updates.
  • An ownership mindset, with a proven ability to take full responsibility for processes, solve complex challenges independently, and take initiative without waiting for instruction. Examples include spotting gaps in coverage, raising risks early, and following issues through to resolution.
  • Strong analytical skills and an eye for edge cases, so issues are caught before clients find them.

Preferred Experience

  • Cross-browser and device testing tools such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
  • Performance testing (e.g., Lighthouse).
  • Visual regression or accessibility testing.
  • Testing order management, fulfillment, or manufacturing workflows.

  • Experiencia práctica probando aplicaciones web, APIs REST e integraciones backend.
